Inspiring Wāhine Rural Conference & Events Committee Member & Sponsor

With over 20 seasons of experience in the horticulture industry, I began my journey as a fruit picker during my university summers. The lifestyle and the work sparked a passion in me, leading to a fulfilling career in horticulture. This path has allowed me to explore various facets of the industry, both in New Zealand and overseas.

Currently, I am part of an orchard management team in Cromwell, where I oversee daily operations and provide advisory services to our clients. My role involves a blend of hands-on management and strategic planning, ensuring the success and sustainability of our orchards.

Beyond my professional responsibilities, I am deeply committed to supporting and empowering women in horticulture. I founded and chair the Central Otago Women in Horticulture group and serve on the national executive committee of Women in Horticulture New Zealand. These roles allow me to advocate for women in the industry and foster a supportive community.

My dedication to the industry has been recognised through my recent participation in the Kellogg Rural Leaders Programme. Through a Kellogg scholarship, I completed a Scholar report on career progression in the Central Otago horticulture industry. This programme also enabled me to earn a Postgraduate Certificate in Commerce from Lincoln University. These achievements underscore my commitment to continuous learning and leadership development.

On a personal note, I am a mother and a wife who cherishes spending time outdoors with my family. My passion for horticulture extends beyond the orchards, as I strive to forge connections and drive positive change across all rural sectors.
